Neuroscience and neurofeedback are offered at Sanctuary Clinics’ presenting clients a non-invasive method of recording and then evaluating their brain waves and brain rhythms to develop a more effective treatment plan for treating their mental health or mood disorders.
One of the many therapeutic programs available at Sanctuary Clinics’, Neurofeedback is an extremely helpful component in many patients’ overall treatment plan.

What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive treatment that encourages the development of healthier patterns of brain activity. The goal of treatment is not only to change how you think and feel, but also to change your brain on a biological level for better functioning.
Recent research has shown that when given the proper support, the brain has the ability to change and adapt, a property known as neuroplasticity. Neurofeedback can encourage and speed up this process of neuroplasticity. Neurofeedback speaks to our brain in its own language—brain waves.

How does Neurofeedback work?
Neurofeedback training has been offered in clinical settings for decades, and for many different purposes. It has been employed to treat memory problems, sleep problems, poor coordination, motor skills, and excessive stress. Artists, athletes, musicians, and executives have used neurofeedback to improve their performance, or to “stay on top of their game.” This form of neurofeedback is known as peak performance training.
A most effective use of neurofeedback—and how it is used at Sanctuary Clinics’—is as a therapy to treat mental health disorders. Neurofeedback training has been beneficial in treating a variety of different neurological disorders. Some disorders commonly treated using neurofeedback include: TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and addictions.

Neurofeedback works by assessing and training certain brainwaves thereby improving your brain’s function through self-regulation. You are a key part of the process, as unhealthy patterns are revealed, you’ll work with your therapist to address and adjust them through discussion and application of neurofeedback’s discoveries.

What to Expect of Neurofeedback at Sanctuary Clinics’
Should you choose to take advantage of Neurofeedback at Sanctuary Clinics’, you will begin with an initial consultation with and evaluation—again, a non-invasive evaluation—taking about a half-an-hour. Afterwards, you will discuss various therapy options relative to neurofeedback’s findings. Once those therapies are underway, you will be able to revisit the results—actually see the progress you are making—and adjust as needed.
