What are Psychotic Disorders?
Psychotic disorders are severe mental disorders that cause people to think and perceive things which are not based on reality. Two of the main symptoms of psychotic disorders are delusions and hallucinations—delusions are false beliefs, and hallucinations are false perceptions. People suffering psychotic disorders lose touch with reality.
Schizophrenia is the most common form of psychotic disorder. People with bipolar disorder may also have psychotic symptoms. Substances that can induce psychosis include alcohol and some drugs.
Here’s the very good news: Patients diagnosed with a Psychotic Disorder can live healthy and full lives.
If you are concerned that you or someone you love is struggling with a psychotic disorder, we can help. Call to speak with someone confidentially, right now.
Why Sanctuary Clinics’?
Most psychological treatment settings are sterile, regimented, and impersonal. Individual patients often don’t receive the one-on-one attention they deserve. At Sanctuary Clinics’, you’ll benefit from an environment conducive to meeting your needs.
As the name represents, Sanctuary is the perfect peaceful, non-sterile, non-lock-down treatment center for psychosis residence where you can settle in and focus on healing. During your stay, you will be made to feel at home in an expansive, elegantly restored 1915 Victorian home, nestled on a serene 5 ½ acres, surrounded by 300-year-old oak trees and a beautiful pecan orchard.
You’re not a number or a case—you’re you. At Sanctuary, you will be loved for who you are; you’ll benefit from state-of-the-art psychological care, including expert psychopharmacological care (medications); all in an in-patient Christ-centered environment.
