Super Bill & Insurance Reimbursement
Sanctuary Clinics, like many other mental health treatment programs and professionals—including therapists and psychiatrists—does not accept insurance.
Sanctuary Clinics will provide you with a superbill—a specific document required by insurance companies that allows you to seek reimbursement for services provided by an out-of-network provider.
Superbill Q&A
Q. What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a document that shows a list of services you received which may be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Q. How does a Superbill payment work?
Typically, superbills are provided for patients by providers who are considered ‘out of network.’ ‘Out of network providers’ cannot submit for payment directly to your insurance company, but rather provide you with a Superbill you can submit to your insurance carrier to be reimbursed for services rendered.
You should contact your insurance provider to learn if you have out-of-network benefits. You should also ask if you’ll need prior authorization for out-of-network services. If your insurance provider confirms that you have out-of-network benefits, you may be reimbursed for some of the costs you paid out of pocket.
Q. How much can I expect to be reimbursed after I submit my Superbill?
Your insurance company will process your reimbursement according to the details of your plan.
Financing Options for Treatment
When it comes to breaking free from the grips of mental illness or addiction, you can’t really put a price on treatment—recovery is priceless. But the reality is, mental health and addiction treatment can be very costly. Many patients finance the cost of their treatment with the help of a third-party lender.
Finance packages these lenders offer often include payment plans patients can afford, utilizing either automatic monthly payments or graduated payment plans. There are several options to explore.

Third-party Financing Q&A:
Q. Why choose third party financing?
Convenience. You won’t need an appointment to apply, you can apply quickly online and receive a decision in minutes. If approved, funds can be available very quickly, often within 24 hours. In addition, third-party lenders often have less stringent review standards in lending as compared to banks and lending institutions.
Q. Is bad credit a problem?
Third-party lenders may be able to help you out if you have bad credit. Loan aggregators will compare loans from across a wide range of different lenders, each of whom will have different credit score criteria. Where you may be rejected by one, they can quickly find another that will likely accept you.
Q. What about interest rates?
Having access to a wider range of lenders means more offers to choose from. Healthy competition in the market means lower interest rates too. It isn’t always a guarantee that you’ll find a lower interest rate than with banks, but it never hurts to shop around.

Crowdfunding Options for Treatment
Reputable mental health or substance treatment programs can cost thousands of dollars. Crowdsourcing sites offer a platform for individuals who cannot afford treatment to ask compassionate people around the world for financial help to fund the treatment they need.

Crowdfunding Q&A:
Q. Why Crowdfund for treatment expenses?
Paying for mental health or addiction recovery treatment out-of-pocket isn’t an option for many. People successfully use crowdfunding to pay for medical treatment, easing the financial stress and allowing them to focus on healing.
Q. What Are Crowdsourcing Sites?
The world connects through technology. Crowdsourcing sites bring people together to collaborate on projects and work toward common goals. “Crowdfunding” is a specific type of crowdsourcing that consists of people donating money to a person or cause. Crowdfunding campaigns are often used to pay for medical expenses.
Q. How does Crowdfunding work?
Crowdsourcing sites facilitate the process of fundraising by making needs known and accessible to a wide audience. These platforms offer templates you fill in to launch your campaign and provide all the back-end support to accept and record donations and convert them into usable funds. Crowdfunding helps spread your story among your family, friends, their friends, and even strangers who want to support you during a difficult time. Though donations may begin with friends and family, as your campaign is more widely circulated (shared by friends and campaign participants via social media), people from around the world can donate to help meet your needs.
