Sanctuary Clinics, the first and only Christian Mental Health Treatment and Recovery Program of its kind, now offers you the opportunity to work on your golf game while you’re in treatment.
Imagine rolling acres of green, sunshine, birds singing—it’s no wonder an environment like this has proven to be the perfect setting for someone looking to improve their mental outlook. Now, imagine that scene as you tee off alongside Sanctuary’s teaching pro, Kenny Knox, giving you pointers on your drive, fairway, short game, approach, chipping, negotiating traps and hazards, and putting greens.
In addition to the health benefits of being outside, taking in sunlight, breathing in the fresh air, and getting physical exercise, golf is known to provide several mental health benefits, reducing stress and anxiety, improving confidence and self-esteem.
Patients at Sanctuary Clinics who enjoy golf can schedule sessions with our teaching pro, Kenny Knox, to work on their golf game while they’re working on their health and wellbeing.

Kenny Knox
Golf – played outdoors in the fresh air; exercising the body, challenging the mind, therapy for the soul; to last a lifetime.
Kenny Knox was 9 years old when his father introduced him to the game of golf. By 12, he’d become a scratch golfer. Winning numerous Junior Golf Tournaments as a teen, Kenny went on to receive a full golf scholarship to Florida State University, twice earning All American status.
Kenny earned his PGA Tour card in 1982. He has 3 PGA Tour victories to his credit: the 1986 Honda Classic, 1987 Hardees Classic, and 1990 Buick Southern Open. Between 1986 and 1991 Kenny finished top 75 in PGA Tour earnings. He’s perhaps best known for going head-to-head with John Daly in the final round of the PGA Championship in 1991. A back injury in 1992 forced Kenny away from competitive golf.
Today, Kenny and his wife Karen are active in their church and very involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Live the Life Ministries.
